Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology, University of Hawaii
This coming May 2014, Ocean Matters will be piloting a new week-long project with the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa on Coconut Island. Working in Hawaii will round out our offerings, giving students a wide array of choices for studying the coral reef both in the Atlantic (Caribbean) and Pacific.
And those of us of a certain age will recall Coconut Island as the famous “uncharted isle” from the 1960s TV show Gilligan’s Island. So come along with us in May, as we post as castaways from Coconut Island! (Okay, we will not exactly be lost, but we will enjoy moments away from civilization as we know it.)
So stay tuned for more information about this exciting partnership!
